So, is it just me or is anybody else thinking that the dear little groundhog got it wrong this year! With forecasted snow for tonight into tomorrow, it’s hard for my mind to wrap around the fact that the calendar says it’s Spring!
Regardless of the flurries outside I am willing Spring here with my classroom activities! One of the first Spring activities we will be doing is this little cutie:
I can’t wait to put these bright and Springy {is that even a word?!} projects up in our room! This is one of my favorites to do in the Spring!
It’s at this time of the school year, that Spring Fever begins to hit, so I like to mix up some of my activities. So for this craftivity I have the students make a book to go with it!
As usual with my craftivities, I like to give lots of options for you to choose from and this craftivity comes with 6 options to best fit the needs of your classroom!
It also comes with all of the templates you need to make the craft and a blackline master that allows students to just color and cut:
*all of the templates and a blackline master for the chick craft with instructions
*5 mini books:
-Spring is… {An adjective mini book with graphic organizer}
-Chicken Life Cycle {Great for integrating science and for sequence of events}
-Signs of Spring {Take students on a nature walk to find the signs of spring around your school and have them record the results}
-Chick Hatching Observation Journal {great way for students to observe and record the changes that occur while hatching eggs in the classroom}
-a blank heart egg to make your own
*2 writing pages (both lined and ruled)
So which writing option would you use with this craftivity? The first 2 people to leave a comment with their email address will get this craftivity for free!
Happy Spring!
Maybe 'Chick Out What We're Up To'? Looks so cute and springy…unlike today!

Ooo! I like that idea Suzy!! The blank egg book would be perfect for that one! I've just sent the craftivity to you! Let me know how it turns out!
Cute!

Absolutely adorable! I think we'd use the "Spring is…" mini-book. Crossing my fingers for this one. 🙂

I would use this with the chicken life cycle writing option. I have really incorporating science into our writing time this year. We just don't have enough minutes in the day to do everything separate anymore.
