Dibels is coming around the corner again and throughout the year I like to have fun ways for kids to practice their segmenting and blending of both real and nonsense words! While there is a time and place for flashcards, their motivation goes up when it has a fun twist!
I just put away the Naughty or Nice? real and nonsense word center from my Christmas Time is Here packet {found here} and it was time to create a winter activity to practice our real and nonsense words! So I created this fun activity called: Snowball Fight!
I’m going to be throwing a snowball fight in my classroom this week as a whole group activity and then will be putting this activity into centers with the recording sheet that is in the unit.
You too can turn your classroom into a fun snowball fight with this fun, hands-on learning activity for real and nonsense words! It is aligned to the Common Core for K, 1st, and 2nd grade!
It comes complete with everything you need to have a successful snowball fight:
*sorting mats {in color or black and white}
*24 snowball words {12 real words and 12 nonsense words}
*4 blank snowballs {to write your own words}
*recording sheet {with answer key}
As always, the first two people to leave a comment with their email address will get this unit for free!
Happy Weekend!
