The End of The Year is drawing near! If you’re like me, you love finding special gifts to give your students. But, you don’t want to spend a small fortune! Below, I’ve put together seven budget-friendly end of the year gifts for students that they will love!
1. Books
Books make the best gift and I love getting books into my students hands anytime that I can! So, it’s not a surprise that my favorite end of year gift involves giving my students a book. Of course, I also like adding a cute gift tag to the front!
On the first day of school I always introduce our beloved Mo Williems by reading the book “There’s A Bird On My Head.” Then, on the last day of school I end the year by giving each student their very own Elephant and Piggie book!
My favorite part of the tradition is that I write a personal note to each student inside their book! I have kids from years ago that tell me that they still have the book I gave them on the last day of first grade! It’s my all-time favorite gift to give!
Scholastic Book Clubs makes this SO affordable to do! I like to save my Scholastic points and grab their great dollar deals throughout the year. But, if books aren’t in your budget this year or if you didn’t have enough Scholastic points saved up, you could just give students a bookmark! Kids love bookmarks and it will help encourage them to read over the summer!
2. S’Mores Kit
If you’re looking for a sweet gift idea for your students end of the year gift they will love this S’Mores Kit! Just add the ingredients into a bag and attach the S’Mores note to the bag! It’s a fun, easy, and delicious gift that your students will love!
3. End Of The Year Awards
Words of affirmation can be such a powerful gift to our students! One of my favorite ways to end the year is to give each of my students a personalized End Of The Year Award! You can click HERE to read more about how to use these editable awards!
I hand them out at our End Of The Year Awards Ceremony and it is such a fun way to uniquely celebrate each student! Plus, the students love the animal theme and can’t wait to see what animal they get!
4. Bucket Of Fun!
Another gift idea is to grab sand pails from the dollar store and fill them up with goodies for your students! You can even attach the “Hope your summer is buckets of fun!” tag to the pail! I love the pictures from @rachkam86 below and how she wrote a personal note to her students on the note! In each bucket she included a book, an End Of Year Award, a bookmark, and a toy for students to use over the summer! In years past I’ve also included things like chalk, and bubbles in the pails too.
5. Hands-On Challenge Kit
A teacher recently told me she was giving her students the Summer Hands-On Challenge Kit as their end of the year gift and I was like, “how did I not think of that?” That’s brilliant! Plus, if you’ve been using the kits with your students this year you can easily print off new challenge cards and send it home with them for the summer to use. What a practical, yet fun gift for students! They will think they have hit the gift jackpot by getting to take their own Hands-On Challenge Kit home!
6. Handwritten Note
Never underestimate the power of a written note! It doesn’t matter if you include the note inside the cover of a book, on a note attached to your gift, or just hand out the note by itself. Either way your students will love getting a personal note from you! In fact, many of your students will keep the note and treasure it for years to come!
7. Autograph Beach Ball
Kids love autographs and getting to take home an autographed beach ball is such a fun gift for students to get to take home! You can often find beach balls at the dollar store.
Budget-Friendly End Of The Year Gifts For Students
Getting fun and meaningful gifts for your students doesn’t have to break the bank! Whether it’s books, S’Mores, awards, a bucket of fun, a handwritten note, or an autographed beach ball there are so many budget-friendly gifts that you can give to students at the end of the year!
